Join the Mount Rogers A.T. Club on August 22 for rare plant monitoring at Grayson Highlands State Park. Learn how to identify Long Stalk Holly and understand the importance of this plant to the Appalachian ecosystems.The hike in search of this significant species will be approximately 5 miles round trip.
Participants should wear sturdy shoes or boots, long pants, and work gloves. Participants should bring lunch, water, a rain jacket, and sun protection. Meet club members at Grayson Highlands State Park (GHSP) at the parking area across from the campground store. The work trip will begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude in the early afternoon.
