The ATC’s office co-located with the USFS National Forests in North Carolina Supervisor’s office and US Fish and Wildlife Service. Watch for brown and white “USFS Information” signs which will direct you to this building.

From Washington, D.C

Travel Time: Approximately 1 hour, 15 minutes
Follow Rt. 66 or I-495 to the Dulles Toll Road (expect $0.50 toll)
Follow the Toll Road west toward the Dulles Greenway (expect $1.85 toll to enter Greenway)
Follow the Dulles Greenway West till it ends near Leesburg, VA
At the end of the Greenway follow the exit toward Route 7 West

Alternative Route: Follow Route 7 West from I-495.
(This is much slower going, but there are no tolls)
Go 20 miles west of Leesburg
Pass the town of Round Hill
Climb the mountain
Look for flashing yellow sign to indicate Rt. 601
Turn left onto Rt. 601 (Blueridge Mountain Rd)
Go about a half a mile and turn right at the first driveway (green mailbox that says Bears Den)
Follow gravel driveway and park

From Leesburg:

Take Highway Rt. 7 West
Go 20 miles
Pass the town of Round Hill
Climb the mountain
Look for flashing yellow sign to indicate Rt. 601
Turn left onto Rt. 601 (Blueridge Mountain Rd)
Go about a half a mile and turn right at the first driveway (green mailbox that says Bears Den)
Follow gravel driveway and park

From Winchester:

Take Highway Rt. 7 East for 20 miles
You will pass the town of Berryville, cross the Shenandoah River and climb the mountain
Look for flashing yellow sign to indicate Rt. 601
Turn right onto Rt. 601 (Blueridge Mountain Rd)
Go about a half a mile and turn right at the first driveway (green mailbox that says Bears Den)

Follow gravel driveway and park
