Marketing Assistant Internship

Location: ATC Headquarters; Harpers Ferry, WV

The Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) is seeking a Marketing Assistant Intern to assist in the Marketing and Communications Department. This internship entails assisting and implementing all marketing strategies by developing various elements essential for the growth of the organization. This individual generally works under Marketing and Communications Manager and carries out several tasks to facilitate campaign drives for the organization.  

Responsibilities
  • Providing assistance in terms of logistics to community events
  • Assisting in writing and editing sales and marketing materials, which include articles, sale sheets, presentations, white papers, and collateral
  • Maintaining project tracking spread sheets and business line marketing calendars
  • Preparing press releases, newsletters and event announcements
  • Updating the ATC’s website using Content Management System
  • Assist in the ATC’s online marketing campaigns such as PPC and SEO efforts
  • Assisting in promotional development
  • Maintain the ATC’s Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and other social media accounts
  • Measure and track responses
  • Develop and execute social media campaigns (ex. Games and Trivia)
  • Recommend and build a company presence on additional social media sites
  • Other duties assigned

Skills and Specifications
  • Knowledge of marketing principles
  • Understand new technologies and applying to marketing principles
  • Capable of writing reports, procedures and business correspondence
  • Ability to work individually and self-driven projects
  • Demonstrate ability to solve problems, analyze systems and data and suggest appropriate solutions
  • Well built skills in organization, prioritization and time management
  • Work under stress to meet project deadlines and minute attention to detail
  • Attention to every information and accuracy in performance
