Event Planning Internship
Location: ATC Headquarters; Harpers Ferry, WV
The Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) is seeking a Event Planning Intern to assist in the Marketing and Communications Department. Under general supervision, the Event Planning Intern will assist in all functions related to planning, organizing, and marketing ATC’s public events. This position requires some Saturday and weekend work.
Responsibilities
- Designs flyers and other marketing materials for events
- Attends and contributes ideas to event planning meetings
- Works with staff and volunteers on event day to insure the event’s success
- Takes photos at events for ATC’s use on Facebook, Google+, Flickr, and ATC's photo database
- Complete a event summary report
- Other duties assigned
Skills and Specifications
- Has or is working towards a Bachelor’s degree in event planning, marketing, communications, or related field.
- Experience planning events
- Experience creating marketing materials such as flyers and invitations
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Good organizational skills
- Great communication skills and outgoing personality
