The Appalachian Trail Conservancy is holding a contest through its Flickr group to find the best photos of kids on the Appalachian Trail.

To participate, you'll first need some photos of kids on the Trail. So arm yourself with a camera and spend a day outdoors, or dig out some of your best memories captured on film.

Once you've taken or selected your photos, upload them to Flickr. Then share them with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy Photo Group and tag them with the phrase kids_atc1 for a chance at the first place prize — a set of kids’ Leki trekking poles.

The contest will end at noon August 16. The winner will be contacted via FlickrMail.
