Foundation Support

The Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) is thankful for the generous support of the philanthropic community which enables ATC to carry out many of our vital programs that fall under our strategic vision Linking the Landscape: Conservation by Engagement along the Appalachian Trail. Organized into five programmatic focus areas, Linking the Landscape includes: ATConservation, ATCommunities, ATCitizens, ATClassroom, and ATCauses.

ATC receives charitable support from foundations such as The Quimby Family Foundation and the Robert and Dee Leggett Foundation for our MEGA-Transect activities all along the Trail; The Conservation Alliance for supporting our efforts two years in a row to protect the Rocky Fork track in Tennessee; and the John B. Snow Memorial Fund for their support of the Trail to Every Classroom (TTEC) program.

Corporate foundations such as REI Gives support ATC’s volunteer coordination efforts and education activities. For over a decade ATC has received a gift from L.L. Bean for our high successfully L.L Bean Grants to Clubs program in which our 30 affiliated cubs can apply for monies to help cover the cost of projects along the A.T.

ATC is also fortunate to receive funding for the much needed and often overlooked general operating costs from foundations such as the F.M. Kirby Foundation.
