Week One

Both crews will work on projects in the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area with Volunteers returning to base camp at the end of each day. This is the perfect introduction to trail crew for those looking for a more "comfortable" camping experience.

Week Two

*The crew will remain on site for two weeks and will not return to Sugar Grove. You'll spend your days off exploring the local area, and will have an opportunity to spend a day in a local town, doing laundry and reconnecting with civilization.
Week Three

  • Stover Creek Relocation*—Join the Georgia Appalachian Trail Club in relocating badly eroded sections of trail near the Trail's southern terminus on Springer Mountain.
  • Copper Ridge Bald Rehabilitation—Stabilize eroding sections of trail between Rocky Bald and Copper Ridge Bald in North Carolina with the Nantahala Hiking Club.

*The crew will remain on site for two weeks and will not return to Sugar Grove. You'll spend your days off exploring the local area, and will have an opportunity to spend a day in a local town, doing laundry and reconnecting with civilization.

  • Matt's Creek Rehabilitation-Rehabilitate sections of the Trail in the remote James River Face Wilderness, Virginia with the Natural Bridge Appalachian Trail Club. *Please note, the crew will be carrying all camping and work equipment into a remote site (4 miles) for the entire week.
  • Copper Ridge Bald Rehabilitation-Stabilize eroding sections of trail between Rocky Bald and Copper Ridge Bald in North Carolina with the Nantahala Hiking Club.

  • Pine Swamp Relocation-Work along side the Roanoke Appalachian Trail Club relocating a section of trail in the Peter's Mountain Wilderness, VA. Spend evenings fishing or cooling off in the nearby Stony Creek.

  • Humpback Mountain Rehabilitation—Head to the Blue Ridge Parkway to assist the Old Dominion Appalachian Trail Club in rehabilitation of trail.
