Hike Introduces Kids and Parents to the Trail
Blacksburg, Virginia (June 11, 2008) – On June 7, the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, U.S. Forest Service, and LEKI – the world's leading manufacturer of hiking and trekking poles, invited area children and their parents to get outside and hike to celebrate the 16th annual National Trails Day (NTD), a long-standing celebration of America's magnificent trail system and its countless supporters and volunteers. National Trails Day 2008 in Virginia focused on sharing the joy of hiking with the next generation of trail users and volunteers. All the young hikers received a pair of Pathfinder Junior LEKI hiking poles.
