Company donates $85,000 to support three non-profit organizations working to build, maintain and restore outdoor spaces
BEND, Ore. (Jan. 11, 2017) – Hydro Flask, the award-winning leader in high-performance, insulated stainless steel flasks now in the Housewares segment of Helen of Troy Limited (NASDAQ, NM: HELE), is excited to announce the launch of Parks For All, the company’s new charitable giving program.
Parks For All supports the development and maintenance of public green spaces in the U.S. and beyond so people everywhere can live healthier, happier and more fulfilled lives. Through the program, Hydro Flask will donate a series of cash grants and product donations to non-profit organizations whose missions align with working to build, restore and preserve parks.
On Jan. 11, Hydro Flask will fulfill grant requests from the Oregon State Parks Foundation, Appalachian Trail Conservancy and Pacific Crest Trail Association contributing a total of $85,000 in grant funds. The money will support the Pacific Crest Trail Association’s Trail Skills College program, which provides training and education for PCTA volunteers; the Appalachian Trail Conservancy’s expansion of the Monson, Maine Visitor Center, which provides hikers with information about hiking opportunities, park regulations and the unique ecology of the surrounding areas; and Oregon State Parks Foundation’s Ticket2Ride program, which enables elementary and middle school-aged children from low to moderate income communities to use the state parks for experiential learning.
“Parks For All is our way of sharing the love we have for green spaces and ensuring these special places get the attention and protection they deserve,” said PR and Communications Manager Lucas Alberg. “For us, parks represent places we can all go to recreate, relax or be inspired, ultimately making us healthier, happier and more fulfilled.”
Hydro Flask will host a happy hour event at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market on Wednesday, Jan. 11 from 4:30-6 p.m. to celebrate the launch of Parks For All. Attendees can purchase a True Pint for $10 with all proceeds going to the Pacific Crest Trail Association.
Also on Wednesday, Hydro Flask will be providing 21-ounce water bottles to the Conservation Alliance breakfast taking place at 7 a.m. at the Marriott Hotel.
Oregon State Parks Foundation raises funds to enhance and preserve more than 260 Oregon state parks. The Appalachian Trail Conservancy preserves and manages the 2,189.8-mile Appalachian Trail, ensuring that its vast natural beauty can be shared and enjoyed today, tomorrow, and for centuries to come.
