In this 2 day class organized with the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club, you'll receive extensive training and information about wilderness first aid. (Read the value of the skill here.) Some of the training will include: wilderness and remote arrival injury challenges, patient assessments and movement, treatments for orthopedic, soft tissue, and environmental injuries, circulatory function, medical emergencies, and international travel.
Located in Charlottesville, VA, this course will provide hands on training with a blend of classroom instruction. The course will require participation indoors and outdoors and in case studies, skill sessions, and scenarios. This extensive course will run from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30-7 p.m. on January 6th and 7th.
Upon completion, students will receive a two-year SOLO WFA (Wilderness First Aid) certification.
