Thursday September 19th -- Take stewardship of the Appalachian Trail into your own hands with some inspiration from this hike. We'll start with a yoga class, taught by registered yoga teachers Michele Landis and Christine Lauriello of Simply Well Yoga Studio in Carlisle. The thirty minute yoga class will help you connect to the earth and prepare you for a moderate 4-6 mile hike afterward. Volunteers from local Trail clubs will lead the hikes, stopping along the way for demonstrations of volunteer work along the Trail and also to discuss opportunities for the public to get involved. The hike will begin at 6 p.m.
This event will be available in two locations:
Children's Lake in Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania or
Pine Grove Furnace State Park in Gardners, PA
Bring plenty of water and wear comfortable hiking shoes (no sandals please).
This event is free and open to the public. Space is limited so register now to save yourself a place.
This event is funded by the National Environmental Education and Training Foundation.
