Lodging Giveback Program
The Appalachian Trail Conservancy’s (ATC) “Lodging Giveback” Program provides businesses the opportunity to showcase their environmental and social responsibility by donating a portion of their sales to help support and maintain the Appalachian Trail. Every dollar raised goes to support the ATC to conserve the footpath, viewsheds, and environmental and cultural resources along the approximately 2,180 mile Trail.

HOW IT WORKS
Meaningful Stays
Travelers are given the opportunity to enjoy meaningful stays by donating a portion of their visit to help support the Appalachian Trail.
Hospitality owners are provided with 3 options on ways to give back:
- Projected revenue based on your annual occupancy - For example, one dollar donated per room night stay each quarter.
- “Opt in” - Guests can decide whether or not to add a one dollar per night charge to their room bill in support of the ATC.
- “Opt out”- A one dollar per night charge is automatically added to the guest’s bill. At checkout they are provided the option to “opt out” of that donation to the ATC.
*Contribution submitted quarterly to the ATC. Giving options are flexible based on establishments needs.
